First shown at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show, the Continental GT marked a new era for Bentley Motors. Since Volkswagen took control of the company in 1998, plans were afoot to build a car that embodied founder W.O. Bentley’s ambition “to build a fast car, a good car, the best in its class.”
With a 6-litre, 552 horsepower W12 engine, the Continental GT was certainly rapid, accelerating from 0-60mph in 4.3 seconds and reaching a maximum of 197 mph.
This 2004 example has only covered 29,000 miles and, as such, is a fine specimen of the breed. Finished in Umbrian Red and with an interior swathed in Laurel leather and gloss Burr Oak woodwork, this Continental GT is a car we think W.O. would have been proud of.
